Make sure that your iPhone sound is turned up - then, select a frequency and push the "Zap!" button to emit a high frequency sound that wasps ( and other pests, see below ) find unpleasant. To stop the sound just click the button again.
If the first frequency doesnt work - try another one!
Lots of small insects and rodents communicate at "ultrasonic" frequencies (up to 100,000Hz) whilst we humans are only capable of hearing sound generally in the frequency range of 10 Hertz(Hz) to 15,00 Hz. Here are just some of the pests that may be repelled by Jasper!
Wasps and bees have "chordontonal" or tympanic membranes that sense ultrasonic vibrations
Mosquitoes have clusters of sound sensing hairs on their antennae
Crickets, grasshoppers and cicadas have tympanic organs in openings on their forelegs which "hear" high frequency sounds
Moths have tiny ears on their thorax which detect the high frequency emissions that bats use to find and capture insects
Cockroaches have "hair sensillae" that can detect and react to ultrasonic vibrations
